The Holy Cross College annual Parents and Family Weekend is February 16-18, 2024. The weekend is a great chance to spend time with your student, their friends, and other parents.

Friday, February 16

3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Registration and Welcome | Vincent Atrium, lower level in Vincent Hall
Pick up a registration packet that includes the final program, name tags, and any tickets ordered.

9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Visit the Hammes Bookstore | Suite 104, Driscoll Hall
Check out the Hammes Bookstore for Holy Cross spirit wear, gift items, books, and more.

4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Fridays at Four | Ave Brew Cafe
Join us for a sampling of wines hosted by Dean of the College Anthony Monta, Ph.D. and Director of Student Activities Carolyn Kitz. Enjoy an educational experience filled with spirits and community building.

Age 21+ required. Cost is $5/person – advance registration is appreciated and encouraged.

4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Dinner | Siegfried Family Dining Hall
Dinner is available for $9 per guest (no charge for students with a meal plan).

6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Honors Convocation | St. Joseph Chapel
This special recognition is by invitation only. The ceremony honors full-time students earning academic honors.

Opening Reception | Vincent Atrium in Vincent Hall
Start the weekend by joining host, President Dr. Marco Clark & First Lady Mrs. Peggy Clark for light music, hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar with beer, wine, and soft drinks in the company of faculty, staff, students and their families.

 Saturday, February 17

Coffee with the President | Ave Brew Café, Vincent Hall
Enjoy a complimentary hot or cold beverage, from the American Espresso Catering cart, and continental breakfast. Guests will have time to mingle with other families and College President Dr. Marco Clark. President Clark will offer brief remarks at 10:30.

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm
Meet & Greet: The Saints Experience (incl. Graduate Pathway Programs) | Vincent Atrium
Representatives from across the student experience will be tabling in the Atrium to meet with parents and students to share stories, listen to feedback, and network. Students and families interested in learning more about the College’s Pathway Programs for graduate school should plan to attend. Also represented will be College Alumni, Admissions & Financial Aid (new 2024 FAFSA filing process questions?), Athletics, Student Success, Mission and Ministry, Moreau College Initiative, and the Business Department’s Small Business Institute. Local members of the College’s Board of Trustees are also invited to meet families and students to better serve our community in their leadership capacity.

Brunch | Siegfried Family Dining Hall
Complimentary, advance registration is appreciated to provide a headcount to the dining hall staff.

1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Women’s Basketball | Pfeil Center
Cheer on the Saints women’s basketball team as they take on Saint Xavier University. There is no charge to attend. Additional activities for parents and guests will be available in the Pfeil. There is no charge to attend.

1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Student Club and Athlete Showcase | Pfeil Center
Get a taste of life outside the classroom as you connect with student clubs and athletes inside the Pfeil Center highlighting the various ways their organization brings vibrancy to the student experience. Families can get a free caricature and purchase raffle tickets for some amazing and unique prizes. (Organizations will rotate between the women’s and men’s games.)

2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Color the Cross | Vincent 140, Vincent Hall
Create an original work of art during a guided, step-by-step painting session, led by Holy Cross College art professor, Angelo Martinez. All materials, light snacks, and beverages are provided. Registration required. Limited to 14 people. The cost is $12 per person.

3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Men’s Basketball | Pfeil Center
Cheer on the Saints men’s basketball team as they take on Saint Xavier University. Additional activities for parents and guests will be available in the Pfeil. There is no charge to attend.

5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Mass | St. Joseph Chapel
Students and families of every faith are invited to celebrate Mass in the St. Joseph Chapel.

Evening Adventures in Downtown South Bend

6:30 p.m.– 8:30 p.m.
Saints Social & Musical Bingo | South Bend Brew Werks
A fun and exciting take on the classic game of bingo with songs replacing the numbers. Holy Cross prizes will be awarded to the winner(s) of each round. Cost is $10/person and includes a take home HC cup, a free drink ticket, chips and salsa, and flatbread pizza. Additional food and beverages (non-alcoholic, mixed drinks, and wine options) are available for purchase. This event is open to all ages and limited to 60 total registrants/attendees.

7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Ice Skating | Howard Park, downtown South Bend
Enjoy one of the many fun winter attractions in downtown South Bend with ice skating at Howard Park. Tickets purchased in advance will be included in your welcome packet. The cost is $10 per adult, ages 3 – 17 are $7, kids under 2 are free.

Sunday, February 18

St. Margaret’s House Winter Walk | Saint Joseph Co. Public Library Main Branch (Downtown South Bend)
Join students, faculty, and staff in walking a mile in her shoes to benefit the work and mission of St. Margaret’s House in Downtown South Bend. St. Margaret’s House improves the lives of women and children by providing individual attention to their immediate needs, breaking the bonds of isolation, and helping them to take their next best step. We believe that each woman is talented and gifted and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. Separate signup required – additional information on joining the Holy Cross College team will be posted when available.
