It’s International Internship Day! At Holy Cross College we don’t celebrate our interns for just one day out of the year; we celebrate our interns every day.
Holy Cross is one of a handful of colleges that require every student to have an internship experience prior to graduation. Holy Cross is committed to helping our students develop as professionals while they pursue their degrees.
The Office of Career Development works with our students and faculty to ensure each student has a meaningful work experience to explore career paths and gain professional skills.
This summer there are over 60 Saints taking part in the internship course. Whether they are learning to be future leaders in business or serving others through a non- profit, Holy Cross students are working in 13 States and 4 Countries this summer. We are incredibly proud of the work our students are doing and look forward to watching them continue to grow into the next generation of professional leaders.
One such student is senior Nathan Cavazos, a Visual Arts student. Nathan is spending the summer sharing his talent and honing his skills with an internship with the South Bend Cubs, a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. He is embedded with the marketing department for the South Bend Cubs as a Graphic Design Intern and is creating designs for their social media posts as well as other promotional materials.
Nathan has already established himself as a professional graphic designer having also done promotional materials for the Holy Cross Athletic Department and starting his own freelance design business. Nathan would like to continue to work in sports marketing after graduation so be sure to watch for his work at major sports venues in the years to come!
Here are a few samples of Nathan’s designs.
