At Holy Cross College, students don’t just earn a degree—they build a future rooted in the competency to see the issues of our time and the courage to act. This commitment was on full display on Feb. 6 at the Career and Internship Fair, where students engaged with local and regional employers eager to connect with emerging talent.
Employers from industries such as healthcare, finance, nonprofit work, and professional sports filled the Vincent Atrium, offering students invaluable networking opportunities. From Beacon Health System and 1st Source Bank to the South Bend Cubs and Catholic Charities, representatives provided insight into internships and career paths that align with students’ passions and callings.
“We’ve worked to ensure a mix of nonprofit and for-profit organizations, offering opportunities across various industries,” said Wendy Chapman, Associate Director of Student Success.
A College That Nurtures Both Career and Calling
More than just a job fair, the event reflected Holy Cross College’s commitment to whole-person education—where students are encouraged to grow not only professionally, but also spiritually and vocationally. Career discernment is an integral part of the Holy Cross experience, and students are supported in finding career paths that align with their talents, values, and sense of purpose.
To further strengthen career preparation, Holy Cross College recently expanded its structured four-year career development pathway, which now includes a one-credit career development course required for all internships.
A Future Filled with Opportunity
Employers who attended the event also spoke highly of their experience engaging with Holy Cross students.
Pam Morrison, from Beacon Health System, shared on LinkedIn:
“We were honored to be part of a great event today! Thank you to our partners at Holy Cross College for giving us the opportunity to discuss the endless opportunities in healthcare offered by Beacon Health System.”
Andrew Weiss, class of 2012, of the Knights of Columbus, also expressed his appreciation on LinkedIn:
“The Weiss Team was excited to meet so many talented young people at the Holy Cross College Career Fair today! Thank you Wendy Betz Chapman for the opportunity to give back to my alma mater and to share with so many talented individuals the career opportunities available at the Knights of Columbus, Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors, and The Phillip Stackowicz Agency here in Indiana.”
This enthusiasm reflects the strong partnerships between Holy Cross College and community organizations that recognize the value of engaging with Holy Cross students eager to make a difference in their fields.
