Useful Information for Incoming Students

U.S. Mail
Mail is delivered to student mail boxes in the student union every business day. Your mailing address for items delivered by the U.S. Postal Service should be written as:

Note: This mail box is shared by all residents, so the sender must be sure to include your name. Do not add your room number, "James Hall" or "Holy Cross College" as this may delay delivery. Be sure mail delivered by the USPS is addressed with the PO Box, not the street address, otherwise delivery will be delayed. Outgoing mail may be taken to a drop box in Vincent Hall for daily pickup.

UPS/FedEx Packages.
The street address for Holy Cross College is 54515 State Road 933 North. If you have packages delivered by a commercial carrier (by other than USPS), the street address must be used. Please, DO NOT use PO Box 782 when using commercial carriers, otherwise delivery will be delayed. Mailing address for items delivered by commercial carriers such as UPS/FedEx:

Note: If you plan on shipping your belongings from home, you must be on campus to receive them. The College does not have adequate facilities to store your belongings prior to your arrival.

Holy Cross College does not endorse any specific bank or credit union. A number of banking options are available near the campus. An ATM is located in the Student Union.

Breaks and Vacations
The residence halls and cafeteria are closed during Fall Break, Christmas Break and Spring Break. Residents are not permitted to remain in the residence halls during these breaks. During Thanksgiving and Easter breaks the Residence Halls are open; however, meals are not served.

On-campus parking is available for all students. All student vehicles are required to be registered with campus security, and to display a parking decal by the first day of class. The first vehicle registered is free of charge. Additional or replacement parking decals are available at a cost of $30 each.

Smoking is prohibited in all College buildings. This includes rooms in the residence halls, the cafeteria and lounge spaces. The use of chewing tobacco is also prohibited in all College buildings.

Students may store luggage and boxes in hall storage during the academic year. See hall staff for access to the storage room. There is a small charge for summer storage of personal items.

Health Services
Holy Cross College and Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center have established a cooperative arrangement to offer primary care health services to all Holy Cross students. Students who choose to take advantage of this service will be assigned a family practice physician at the Associates in Family Medicine practice at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. All physicians are board certified in family practice.

AFM office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-noon, and 1:00-5:00 PM. An on-call physician is always available for after-hours and weekend coverage. Students will have access to ancillary outpatient services, i.e., laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy. The AFM is located two miles from Holy Cross College. Students in need of medical care are to contact the AFM office (237-7890) to schedule an appointment, being sure to identify themselves as Holy Cross College students. AFM will file student claims to your insurance company.

Resident students need to be covered by health insurance. Please make sure that you are covered by your parents' policy, or arrange a policy for yourself.

Health Form
The health form must be completed by all students. Those students who do not have a completed health form on file in the Student Health and Wellness Office will have an administrative hold placed on their academic records and face disciplinary sanctions.

All residents must return a completed Report of Medical History prior to moving into the residence halls. If a resident has a medical condition that may affect room assignments, please advise the director of residence life as early as possible.
